I'm an amateur food photographer and Dan Ryan's is always a pain in the ass.

Try playing with the white balance settings on your camera (if it has them). Otherwise, napkin-flash-diffuser technique works well, if a bit akward.Ian Kuohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09119978320034046869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14277482.post-55364949264727168592010-11-26T09:48:35.634+08:002010-11-26T09:48:35.634+08:00anonymous: sometimes a potato's texture can be...anonymous: sometimes a potato's texture can be dry even if you put on a lot of butter, but I didn't try it so maybe you're right!

anonymous2: that's true- the pasta wasn't soggy. thanks for sharing your experience!

wilson: grilled cornbread sounds good, but it's hard to find cornbread in general in taipei!

nilcha: haha! thanks!

ken: glad you found a seat at the bar- thanks for sharing your experience!joanhhttp://hungryintaipei.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14277482.post-78862686626210937602010-11-21T13:28:52.141+08:002010-11-21T13:28:52.141+08:00On Joan's recommendation, I popped into Dan Ry...On Joan's recommendation, I popped into Dan Ryan's this SUN morning at 11:30AM, after hot yoga class. I had no reservations so they sat me at the bar. Within 15 minutes, the place was nearly packed. I love eggs, but one of the huge differences between living in Tokyo and living in Taipei is the availability of 生卵 and 半熟卵 (raw eggs and half-cooked eggs) in Japan. Well, now I know that if I need an egg fix, I can come here for their Eggs Benedict. Too bad it didn't come with more hash browns... I may return in the future for that creamed penne with chicken: looks yummy!Kenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01839387190280292264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14277482.post-8205726781512578892010-11-18T15:20:10.414+08:002010-11-18T15:20:10.414+08:00i literally make uuuuuuuu sound the moment i saw t...i literally make uuuuuuuu sound the moment i saw this post, YUM!Nilchahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06893622433617811990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14277482.post-14863989943276640962010-11-18T02:21:46.127+08:002010-11-18T02:21:46.127+08:00Well now in San Francisco and Hawaii they serve gr...Well now in San Francisco and Hawaii they serve grill cornbread. Usually places like this have pre-cooked pasta which equals soggy noodles! My dish was nicely al dente. I was quite happy with that!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14277482.post-24691270335055610832010-11-17T12:41:04.523+08:002010-11-17T12:41:04.523+08:00Baked potato was dry?
