I was at Grandma Nitti's for brunch today and saw the Thanksgiving menu. It's served after 5pm and it's 800NT +10% service charge.

I don't remember exactly what you get but it's a glass of red wine, a clam chowder soup, turkey with some sides, and a pie (pumpkin I think). There were a couple other things I believed but I don't remember. They will be serving it from Thursday-Saturday.

Love the website by the way!

We weren't going to go anywhere since we're having a pseudo-Thanksgiving dinner at home this weekend, but then we decided at the last minute to go to Capone's. Overall impression: not great, but not terrible--I think we liked it somewhat better than Dan Ryan's last year (but maybe our expectations were just much lower), and it was less expensive.

The salad was decent, but my wife was the one who pointed out that it had blueberries, not cranberries...and blue cheese, not Gorgonzola. Pretty funny.

Portions for the side dishes were SKIMPY! Not mentioned on the menu were a tiny scoop of nondescript mashed potatoes, and the tiniest possible portion of stuffing.

The highlight was the pumpkin pie, which wasn't really like pumpkin pie at all but was made from real local pumpkin, not the canned stuff. Plus a scoop of Movenpick vanilla ice cream with a cranberry topping.

I ended up going to Jake's after all, although I didn't make it there until Friday night. Very relaxed atmosphere, just a few others having drinks or a meal.

$NT900 got me a Thanksgiving meal for one, with a decent salad and soup, turkey with homemade stuffing and buttery potatoes, okay cheesy broccoli and meh cranberry sauce. The gravy was really good though. Also red wine, coffee and some pumpkin cheesecake.

I'll have to try this Lowrys place sometime soon.
