happy chinese new year

I've been traveling the past few weeks, so sorry about lack of posts- I'm still catching up on work and life off-line in Taipei, but don't worry, I've still been eating good food to blog about. Like many other families, we ended up going away for the Chinese New Year- so here's a preview of the culinary delights that I will blogging about very soon that I got to enjoy from Korea and Beijing.

the spread- i love the side dishes in Korea!

mmm.. cold glass noodles- does anyone know where we can eat this in Taipei?

mmm. can you smell the kalbi?

gotta have beijing duck in beijing and i was glad i ate here!

Happy year of the Golden Pig!

It's 1 am and I just saw these hunger-inducing pictures. I am now contemplating a late night dinner (dunno if I can find korean though). It's all your fault.

that food looks amazing. I love korean food and the side dishes is one of my favorite things about it. i've never been to korea, was the food much better than anything you'd find in ktown in LA?

Authentic Korean food in Taipei is elusive, but there is a place behind the old Far Eastern Dept store on Ren-Ai bus circle that I've been to and there are always a couple Koreans eating there so that's a good sign. Sorry I can't remember the name but it's two alleys behind. And don't go to the one next door that is regular Taiwanese Korean food, but the one with a picture of the owner with the Korean ex-president Kim on the wall. Food is good, soon dubu I've had better in LA/SFO but for Taipei it's decent. Hope this helps.
